Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GoXBudget collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the GoXBudget website, mobile app, and related services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including your full name, email address, profile image, account settings, households, invite codes, categories, transactions, budgets, bills, goals, income sources, income logs, and any notes or descriptions you enter into the service.

We also collect technical and service information needed to operate the app, such as authentication tokens, session timestamps, app preferences, theme selection, device-level app-lock settings, crash or error details, and basic device or browser metadata used for security, debugging, and performance.

If you use households or shared workspaces, the information you add to that shared area may be visible to other members of that household according to the role and permissions you assign.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to create and maintain your account, authenticate you, sync your data across devices, display your financial workspace, calculate summaries and projections, support shared household features, and let you manage transactions, income, goals, budgets, bills, accounts, and categories.

We also use information to secure the service, detect misuse, maintain backups, troubleshoot issues, improve product performance, communicate service updates, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate GoXBudget, such as infrastructure, authentication, database, hosting, storage, analytics, communications, or customer-support providers, but only as needed to provide the service.

We may share information with members of a household or workspace when you intentionally place data into shared household features. We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, valid government request, or to protect rights, safety, property, users, or the integrity of the service.

If GoXBudget is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

4. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as it is reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, support shared household records, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, meet tax, accounting, audit, or legal requirements, and protect the service from abuse.

When you delete content, we may remove it immediately from active views while keeping limited backup or log copies for a reasonable period where necessary for recovery, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or security.

5. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no internet service or electronic storage method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you enable the in-app lock feature, biometric verification, Face ID, fingerprint unlock, and device passcode fallback are handled by your device operating system. GoXBudget does not collect or store your biometric data directly.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You may update many parts of your profile and financial records inside the app. You may also remove or delete certain data, leave or manage households, or stop using the service at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to request access to your data, correction, deletion, or information about how your data is used. We will review and respond to qualifying requests as required by applicable law.

7. Children’s Privacy

GoXBudget is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

8. International Use

If you access GoXBudget from outside the country where our systems are operated, your information may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions. By using the service, you understand that your information may be processed in places with different data-protection laws than your home jurisdiction.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we may revise the effective date, post the updated policy in the app and on the website, and provide additional notice when appropriate.
